Chapter 37.

AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners of
Cecil County to refund to Ellen M. Clayton sums
of money erroneously paid into the county treasury.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the county commissioners of Cecil
county be and they are hereby authorized to pay Ellen

M. Clayton, of Cecil county, the sum of thirty-one
dollars and twenty-four cents, being the sum erro-
neously paid in the treasury of said county by the
said Ellen M. Clayton for taxes for the years eighteen
hundred and seventy-seven, eighteen hundred and
seventy-eight, and eighteen hundred and seventy-nine,
inclusive of each year.

Repay taxes
paid in error.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

Approved March 4, 1884.

Chapter 38.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact section forty-six of
article fourteen of the Public Local Laws of Kent
county, as repealed and re-enacted by the acts of
eighteen hundred and eighty, chapter three hundred
and two, relating to the levying of taxes for the
corporation of Chestertown, so as to define and
limit the rates of taxes to be levied by the commis-
sioners of Chestertown.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That section forty-six of article four-
teen of the Public Local Laws of Kent county, as re-


pealed and re-enacted by the act of eighteen hundred
and eighty, chapter three hundred and two, relating
to the levying of taxes for the corporation of Chester-
town, so as to define and limit the rate of taxes to be
levied by the commissioners of Chestertown, and the
same be repealed and re-enacted, as follows :
