Chapter 368.

AN ACT to amend article sixteen of Code of Public
|
|
|
|
General Laws of this state title " Chancery," by
|
|
|
|
adding thereto a certain additional section, under
|
|
|
|
the sub-title " Non-Residents," providing that upon
|
|
|
|
application for a renewal of lease containing a cove-
|
|
|
|
nant for renewment, any unknown person or per-
|
|
|
|
sons interested in the reversion reserved in such
|
|
|
|
lease may be so described in the bill, notice by
|
|
|
|
publication be given according to such description,
|
|
|
|
and the same proceedings had against such un-
|
|
|
|
known person or persons as against non-resident
|
|
|
|
defendants.

|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
|
|
|
|
of Maryland, That article sixteen of the Code of
|
|
|
Additional sec-
|
Public General Laws of this state, title " Chancery,"
|
|
|
tion.
|
sub-title " Non-Residents," be and the same is hereby
|
|
|
|
amended by adding thereto the following additional
|
|
|
|
section ;
|
|
|
|
SEC..... Upon, application for a renewal of a lease
|
|
|
|
containing a covenant for renewment, where any per-
|
|
|
|
son or persons interested in the reversion reserved in
|
|
|
|
said lease, and who should be a party or parties to the
|
|
|

the bill as the unknown person or persons interested
|

|
|
in said reversion by, through or under the original
|
|
|
|
lessor or lessors naming him or them, and the court
|
|
|
|
shall order notice by publication to be given to such
|
|
|
|
unknown person or persons according to their descrip-
|
|
|
|
tion in the bill and the same proceedings shall be
|
|
|
|
had against such unknown person or persons as are
|
|
|
|
had against non-resident defendants named in a bill
|
|
|
Effect of decree
|
in chancery; and any decree which may be passed
|
|
|
|
shall have the same effect against such unknown per-
|
|
|
|
son or persons, whether claiming by descent, purchase
|
|
|
|
or in any other manner, and against 'their heirs, execu-
|
|
|
|
tors or administrators and assigns, as if such unknown
|
|
|
|
person or persons had been made a defendant or
|
|
|
|
defendants by name in said bill.
