Chapter 33.
AN ACT to authorize the Comptroller of the State
Treasury to draw his warrant on the State Treasurer,
in favor of R. M. Betts, for expenses incurred in
behalf of the state at the instance of the comptroller.
SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the comptroller of the state
treasury shall draw his warrant upon the treasurer of

incurred.

the state, in favor of R. M. Betts, for the sum of
twelve dollars, for expenses incurred in going and
returning to and from Annapolis to Easton, in Talbot
county, under instructions of the comptroller of the
state treasury, to be paid out of any money not other-
wise appropriated.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

Chapter 33.
AN ACT to refund to Ellen M. Clayton, of Cecil
county, certain sums of money erroneously paid
into the State Treasury.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the treasurer of the state be and
is hereby authorized and directed, upon the warrant
of the comptroller, to pay Ellen M. Clayton, of Cecil
county, the sum of fifteen dollars and fifty cents, being

the sum the said Ellen M. Clayton has paid into the
treasury for state taxes on account of erroneous assess-
ment for the years eighteen hundred and seventy-seven,
eighteen hundred and seventy-eight, eighteen hundred
and seventy-nine, eighteen hundred and eighty and
eighteen hundred and eighty-one, inclusive of each
year, this bill haying been recommended by the offi-
cers of the state treasury.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
