Chapter 30.
AN ACT to amend the act passed at the January
session, eighteen hundred and sixty-seven, of the
General Assembly of Maryland, chapter one hun-
dred and twenty-one, entitled " An act to incorpo-
rate the Maryland Central Railroad Company," and
to amend the amended act thereto passed at the
January session, eighteen hundred and eighty-two,
of the General Assembly of Maryland, chapter four
hundred and seventy-five, entitled an act to amend
the act passed at the January session, eighteen hun-
dred and sixty-seven, of the General Assembly of
Maryland, chapter one hundred and twenty-one,
and to repeal section thirteen of the act to incorpo-
rate the Maryland Central Railroad Company,
passed at the January session, eighteen hundred and
sixty-seven, of the General Assembly of Maryland,
chapter one hundred and twenty-one, and to repeal
section two of the amended act thereto passed at
the January session, eighteen hundred and eighty-
two, of the General Assembly of Maryland, chapter
four hundred and seventy-five, and enact in lieu of
said sections the following sections :
SECTION 1. Se it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That section thirteen of the act passed
at the January session, eighteen hundred and sixty-
seven, of the General Assembly of Maryland, chapter

one hundred and twenty-one, entitled " An act to in-
corporate the Maryland Central Railroad Company ,"
and that section two of the amended act thereto,
passed at the January session, eighteen hundred and
eighty-two, of the General Assembly of Maryland,
chapter four hundred and seventy-five, be and the
same is hereby repealed, amended and re-enacted to
read as follows :

SEC. 2. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a bell shall be placed on each loco-
motive engine, and rung at the distance of at least
one thousand feet from the place where the railroad
