At a session of the General Assembly of Maryland, begun
and held in the city of Annapolis, on the second day of
January, 1884, His Excellency, ROBERT M. McLANE, being
Governor, the following Laws were enacted, to wit:

Chapter 1.
AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners of
Somerset county to build a bridge across the Anna-
messex river in said county.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the county commissioners of Som-

erset county are hereby authorized and empowered to
build a bridge across the Annamessex river in said
county, from Obadiah Chippenger's property, on the
north side of said river, to Mrs. Elizabeth Scarborough's
property, on the south side of said river.

SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That the said county com-
missioners shall have power to levy upon the assessable
property of said county, a sum of money not exceed-
ing one thousand dollars, for the building of said
bridge.
