Chapter 174.


AN ACT to give the sanction of the General Assem-


bly of Maryland to the devise and bequest to Rev-


erend H. G. Bowers, contained in the last will and


testament of George Richards, late of Frederick


county, deceased.


WHEREAS George Richards, late of Frederick county,


deceased, did, by his last will and testament, recorded


in liber J. P. P., number one, folio four hundred and


twenty-five, &c., one of the testamentary records of


Frederick county, bequeath and devise the rest and

residue of his estate to the Reverend H. G. Bowers,


of Jefferson, Maryland, expressing therein the devise


that he use and appropriate the same for such relig-


ious and charitable purposes and objects, and in such


sums and in such manner, as will in his judgment best
