Chapter 78.


AN ACT to repeal sections one and two of article


forty-two of the Code of Public General Laws of


the State of Maryland, title " Governor," respect-


ing the custody of the great seal of the state and


the use thereof, and to re-enact the same with


amendments, so as to give force and effect to the


constitutional provisions relating thereto.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly


of Maryland, That sections one and two of article


forty-two of the Code of Public General Laws of the

stricted access to and use of the great seal for the pur-


pose of affixing the same to bills which shall have


passed the General Assembly as required by the con-


stitution, preparatory to presenting the same to the


governor for his approval; every bill, when passed by


the General Assembly, shall be returned to the house

after as practicable, be sealed with the great seal by


the secretary of the senate or chief clerk of the house


of delegates, as the case may be, and presented to the


governor for his approval; and, in his presence, such
