authorized to take the acknowledgments of deeds con-
veying land in this state, and such acknowledgments
shall be made and certified to in the same manner as
the acknowledgments of such deeds; and when so
acknowledged and certified shall be filed in the office
of the clerk of the circuit court for the county in
which the principal place of business of the partnership
shall be (or if it be in the city of Baltimore, in the
office of the clerk of the superior court of Baltimore
city), and shall be recorded by him at large in a book
kept for that purpose, open to public inspection; and
if the partnerships shall have place of business situated

acknowledgment thereof, duly certified by the clerk in
whose office it shall be filed, under his official seal,

Chapter 66.

AN ACT to amend the charter of the Franklin Bank
of Baltimore, by giving the said corporation addi-
tional powers.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the president and directors of the
Franklin Bank of Baltimore be and they hereby are
authorized and empowered to allow and pay to any

one who shall deposit for any time certain and speci-
fied, to be agreed upon between such depositor and
said corporation, any money or moneys with the said
corporation, interest at any rate agreed on between
them, not exceeding the legal rate upon such money
or moneys, so deposited for such time certain and
specified.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all acts or parts of
acts that may be, or so far as they are, in conflict with
the provisions of this act, be and the same are hereby
