method of selecting the State Treasurer is a good one,

MAYOR McKELDIN: Well, he is really, as you

know, of course, not elected primarily by the Legislature,

he is appointed by the Governor, and the Governor gives

the word, and that's it, I mean as a practical matter,

that is it.

is of the same party as the Legislature, but it wasn't

true when you were in office.
