beyond salary scales we have provided, and this is

the problem with research grants. Because of the

grant they can go beyond the State salary structure,

which causes problems in the other schools .

through the legislature created a division, put it in

the Budget Bureau, of data processing control for the

whole State or Maryland. Immediately, the University

says that they are exempt because they have funds.

Anyhow, we were asked to come to the meeting at the

University and they have hundreds of thousands of

dollars worth of computers over there.
