square or box to the right of and opposite the words "For
Beer Law" and a corresponding square to the right of and
opposite the words "Against Beer Law" so that the voters
may be able to designate by a cross-mark in the proper
square or box his or her decision for or against said Beer
Law. If the majority of votes cast at said election shall be
"For Beer Law, " then said Sections 375, 376, 377, 378, 379,
380, 380A, 380B, 380C, 380D, 380E and 380F shall immedi-
ately become effective; but if the majority of votes cast
shall be "Against Beer Law, " then said sections shall be
null, void and of no effect.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency law and necessary for
the immediate preservation of the public health and safety,
and being passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by
three-fifths of all the members elected to each of the two
Houses of the General Assembly, the same shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 524.

AN ACT to exempt Garrett County from the provisions
of any State law enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland at its 1933 session relating to the manufac-
ture, sale, distribution and transportation of beer, lager
beer, porter, wine or fermented malt or vinous liquors
containing not more than 3. 2% of alcohol by weight,
and providing for referendum thereon.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Garrett County shall be exempt. from the
provisions of any State law enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland at its 1933 session relating to the manu-
facture, sale, distribution and transportation of beer, lager
beer, porter, wine or fermented malt or vinous liquors con-
taining not more than 3. 2% of alcohol by weight.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
be effective until the same shall be adopted or rejected at
