follow immediately after Section 374 of said Article, to
authorize the sale in packages of beer, lager beer, ale and
porter containing one-half of one per centum or more of
alcohol by volume, and not more than 3. 2 per centum of
alcohol by weight, in Caroline County, to be consumed
off the premises where sold, to require a license for such
sale, and to provide the names and terms of the issuance
of such licenses, and the revocation thereof; to provide
penalties for violation of said sections; to provide for
the submission of said new sections to the voters of Caro-
line County for adoption or rejection, and to provide that
said new sections shall become effective immediately
upon adoption by said voters, and to repeal all local laws
inconsistent or in conflict with the provisions of said
sections when so adopted.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That subject to the referendum hereinafter pro-
vided for in Section 2 of this Act, twelve new sections be
and they are hereby added to Article 6, of the Code of Pub-
lic Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Caroline
County, " sub-title "Liquor and Intoxicating Drinks, " said
new sections to be known as Sections 375, 376, 377, 378,
379, 380, 380A, 380B, 380C, 380D, 380E and 380F and to
follow immediately after Section 374 of said Article and to
read as follows:
375. The term "beverages" as used in Sections 375 to
380F, inclusive, shall include beer, lager beer, ale and
porter containing one-half of one per centum or more of
alcohol by volume but not more than 3. 2 per centum of
alcohol by weight.
376. The County Commissioners of Caroline County are
authorized to issue licenses to persons, firms, corporations,
or associations on applications duly made therefor, for the
sale of beverages within the limits of Caroline County,
subject, however, to the limitations and restrictions im-
posed by this Act. The County Commissioners shall keep
a full record of all applications for licenses, of all recom-
mendations for and remonstrances against the granting of
licenses, and of the action taken thereon. The expenses
incident to such work shall be paid by the County Commis-
sioners from the funds arising from license fees herein-
after provided.
377. It shall be lawful for any brewer or manufacturer
to sell to licensees under the provisions of this sub-title, in
