CHAPTER 503.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
625 and Section 626 of Article 1 of the Code of Public
Local Laws, title "Allegany County, " sub-title "State's
Attorney, " providing for compensation, and to make this
Act an emergency Act.

CHAPTER 504.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
163 of Article 1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland, 1930, title "Allegany County, " sub-title "Elec-
tion Districts, " providing for the compensation of Judges
and Clerks of Election and of registration officers in Al-
legany County, and fixing the hours which constitute a
day for election and registration purposes, and provid-
ing compensation for overtime work of election officials
in Allegany County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 163 of Article 1 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, 1930, title "Allegany
County, " sub-title "Election Districts, " be, and the same is
hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments to read
as follows:
Section 163. The Judges of Election, whether acting as
or sitting as officers of registration, and all Clerks of Elec-
tion in Allegany County shall be allowed and paid Six
Dollars ($6. 00) a day, such day to be the time from the
opening of the polls and/or registration booths until the
closing of the same; fractions of a day shall be allowed for
pro rata, and overtime on registration and election days
shall be allowed for at the rate of sixty cents an hour; re-
turn Judges for each party shall be allowed Five Dollars
per day each for qualifying, and return Judges for each
party shall be allowed Six Dollars for returning the poll
books, ballot boxes and supplies, and in addition to the
above compensation, all return Judges residing outside of
Cumberland shall be allowed transportation to and from
Cumberland at the established rate for returning the poll
