torney the additional sum of Six Hundred Dollars per
annum, for his attendance before the People's Court; the
said sum to be paid in equal quarterly installments on
January first, April first, July first and October first.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is here-
by declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public health and safety,
and having been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported
by three-fifths of all the members elected to each of the
two Houses of the General Assembly, the provisions of this
Act reducing the salary of the Clerk of the People's Court
shall become effective as of May 1, 1933, and the provisions
of the Act relating to the salary of the State's Attorney
shall become effective as of January 1, 1935.

CHAPTER 45.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
99 of Article 23 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Wicomico County, " sub-
title "Justices of the Peace and Constables, " sub-heading
"People's Court, " decreasing the salary of the Judge of
the People's Court.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 99 of Article 23 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Wicomico County, " sub-title "Justices of the Peace and
Constables, " sub-heading "People's Court, " be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments, to read
as follows:

99. Said Judge of the People's Court shall receive an
annual salary of Twenty-four Hundred Dollars, in monthly
installments of Two Hundred Dollars each; the sum of
One Hundred and Twenty Dollars per month shall be paid
by the County Commissioners for Wicomico County, and
the sum of Eighty Dollars per month shall be paid by the
Mayor and Council of Salisbury, Maryland, which said sal-
ary shall be in lieu of all fees and costs in both civil and
criminal cases, all of which said fees and costs, including
