other persons or circumstances, shall not be affected
thereby.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That any parts of
the original charter of the Town of Brentwood which may
in any way conflict with the provisions of this Act be and
the same are hereby repealed.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect on June 30, 1933.

CHAPTER 443.

AN ACT to authorize the Governor of the State of Mary-
land, acting for and on behalf of the State of Mary-
land, to cede to the United States of America, for use
as an experiment station, a certain tract of land in
Prince George's County, Maryland, belonging to the
State of Maryland and constituting a part of the cam-
pus of the University of Maryland.

WHEREAS, The United States Bureau of Mines contem-
plates the construction on the campus of the University
of Maryland at College Park, Maryland, of a building in
which may be carried on highly technical research in
Industrial Chemistry, Physics, Geology, and other sci-
ences, which will be of great mutual value to the United
States Government and to the University of Maryland;
and

WHEREAS, A bill now pending in the Senate and House
of Representatives of the United States of America in
Congress assembled authorizes the appropriation of
$350, 000 for the construction of said building on the cam-
pus of the University of Maryland at College Park, Mary-
land, contingent on the donation by the University of
Maryland of a site for this purpose;

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Governor of the State of Maryland,
upon application of an authorized agent of the United
States of America setting forth a description by metes and
