instalments and they shall not receive any other compensa-
tion, emolument, pay or recompense of any kind whatso-
ever, for their services, including services rendered under
Section 202 of this Article. The members of the Board of
Supervisors of Elections of Washington County shall re-
ceive an annual salary of not less than three hundred
dollars ($300. 00) each, which salary may be increased by
the County Commissioners in their discretion. The said
salaries shall be payable by the County Commissioners of
said county and the said Supervisors shall not receive any
other compensation, emolument, pay or recompense of any
kind whatsoever for their services including services ren-
dered under Section 202 of this Article.

7. The Board of Supervisors of Elections of the several
counties may have clerks, with the consent of the County
Commissioners, for their respective counties, at such com-
pensation as the said County Commissioners may fix. The
Supervisors of Elections of the City of Baltimore shall
have a chief clerk at a salary of thirty-five hundred dollars
($3500), one clerk at a salary of three thousand dollars
($3000), one clerk at a salary of twenty-seven hundred and
fifty dollars ($2, 750), two clerks at a salary of twenty-two
hundred dollars ($2200) each per annum, two clerks at a
salary of nineteen hundred dollars ($1900) each per an-
num, two clerks at a salary of seventeen hundred dollars
($1700) each per annum, three clerks at a salary of six-
teen hundred dollars ($1600) each per annum, one carpen-
ter at a salary of two thousand dollars per annum. The
said clerks, and in the City of Baltimore, the chief clerk,
and clerks and carpenter shall be appointed by the re-
spective board of supervisors and shall be removable by
them in their discretion. In Baltimore City, the chief
clerk, with the approval of the supervisors, shall from time
to time, secure such temporary assistance as may be neces-
sary for the proper transaction of the business of the office,
but the compensation of such assistants to be paid by the
Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, upon requisition by
the said supervisors shall not exceed the sum of three
thousand dollars ($3, 000) in any one year. In Washington
County, the Supervisors of Elections shall appoint a clerk
who shall receive an annual salary of not less than four
hundred and fifty dollars ($450. 00) per annum, which
salary may be increased by the County Commissioners in
their discretion. The clerk so appointed shall hold his
office at the pleasure of the Board of Supervisors of Elec-
tions, and shall be removable by them in their discretion
