other compensation for services rendered said board; pro-
vided, however, that the said Commissioners may allow
said attorney additional compensation not exceeding twen-
ty-five dollars ($25. 00) per day for such time as it may be
necessary for him to represent said board before the Cir-
cuit Court for Frederick County or before the Court of
Appeals of Maryland.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1933.

CHAPTER 402.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
285 of Article 21 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Talbot County, " sub-
title "Justices of the Peace and Constables, " sub-head-
ing "Jurisdiction, " so as to extend the jurisdiction of
Justices of the Peace in Talbot County in cases of
larceny.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 285 of Article 21 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Tal-
bot County, " sub-title "Justices of the Peace and Con-
stables, " sub-heading "Jurisdiction, " be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted with amendments, to read as
follows:

285. The several Justices of the Peace of Talbot
County shall have, in addition to the jurisdiction
which they now possess, and which may be con-
ferred upon them by or under the laws of this State,
jurisdiction concurrent with that exercised by the
Circuit Court for said county in all cases of assault
without any felonious intent; and in all cases of as-
sault and battery, and in all cases of larceny, when the
value of the property stolen does not exceed the sum
of twenty-five dollars, and in all misdemeanors not
punishable by confinement in the penitentiary, which may
be committed within their respective jurisdictions; and
shall have jurisdiction in all prosecutions or proceedings
