for sale in the City of Annapolis, any intoxicating liquors
except as hereinafter provided, but this shall not apply to
sales made by persons under a provision of law or order
or decree of a court of competent jurisdiction requiring him
to sell personal property, or to sales of cider by the maker
thereof not to be drunk on the premises, whenever the term
intoxicating liquors is used in this and the succeeding sec-
tion of this sub-title it shall be deemed to include whiskey,
brandy, rum, gin, wine, ale, beer and all other fermented
and distilled liquors, and every mixture of liquors which
shall contain more than 3. 2 per cent, by weight of alcohol;
nothing in this or the succeeding sections of this sub-title
shall be construed to authorize the sale of any intoxicating
liquors or any admixture thereof in any part of said city
where such sale now is or hereafter shall be prohibited by
special law.

62A. The Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Annap-
olis, without the formality required by the several preced-
ing sections, to wit: Sections 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41 and
43, for the issuing of licenses for sale of intoxicating
liquors, may issue licenses in its discretion for the sale
of beer, wines and other beverages containing not more
than 3. 2 per cent, of alcohol by weight, to any person, firm
or corporation, for the purpose of sale, to be drunk on the
premises or sold in bulk in the City of Annapolis, on pay-
ment annually of the following license fees, to wit: hotels
$100. 00; cafes, restaurants and other places of business
$75. 00; incorporated social clubs, selling to bona fide mem-
bers thereof and the guests of said members $35. 00.

(a) And the said Mayor and Aldermen of the City of
Annapolis, may in its discretion, issue licenses for sale in
unbroken packages, or bulk, beer, wines and other bever-
ages, containing not more than 3. 2 per cent, alcohol by
weight, not to be drunk on the premises, to any person,
firm or corporation conducting stores and other business
places in the said City of Annapolis, on the payment an-
nually of $35. 00 license fee. Any any person, firm or cor-
poration conducting more than one store or place of busi-
ness, shall pay a license fee of $35. 00 each for two stores;
all over two stores up to four stores $50. 00 each, and all
over four stores or places of business $75. 00 each.

(b) No license shall be issued for a longer period than
one year. If an application is filed for, a license after the
first of May of any year, the license, if issued, shall run
until the first day of May of the following year.. The li-
