include distribution branches of said licensee located else-
where in Allegany County.

A distributor shall mean any person, firm or corporation
solely engaged in the business of selling at wholesale or
retail and/or distributing the aforesaid beverages to either
residents or holders of retail "On and Off Sale" licenses
and retailers' "Off Sale" licenses in Allegany County as
agent of the manufacturer or otherwise, but shall not be
deemed to include manufacturers making sale of said bev-
erages in Allegany County at wholesale or retail and dis-
tributing the same directly from their main manufacturing
plant.

A retailer's "On and Off Sale" license may be granted
only to individuals, partnerships, associations who are bona
fide residents of Maryland, and/or Corporations authorized
to do business in the State of Maryland who are the proprie-
tors of bona fide hotels, bona fide restaurants, where meals
are and will be habitually sold for payment, and/or bona
fide clubs, and shall entitle the licensee to sell the aforesaid
beverages for consumption both on and off said licensee's
premises.

A retailer's "Off Sale" license may be granted only to
individuals, partnerships and associations who are res-
idents of the State of Maryland and/or Corporations
doing business in the State of Maryland who are
the bona fide proprietors of retail stores located in Alle-
gany County, and shall only permit the licensee to sell said
beverages in original packages containing not less than one
dozen bottles or single containers of not less than five gal-
lons content for consumption off said licensee's premises;
provided, however, that the applicant for any kind of a
license under this Act shall be entitled to hold only one
license only for any one of its establishments in Allegany
County irrespective of how many establishments it may
operate therein.

316E. All licenses required by the provisions of this
Act shall first expire on the first day of May, 1934, and
thereafter shall expire on the first day of May next suc-
ceeding the date of their issue, and shall be issued for
twelve or six months only and for no other periods of
time; all twelve-month licenses shall be granted to begin
from the first day of May in the year of their issue except
as hereinbefore provided, and all six-month licenses shall
be granted to begin from the first day of November in the
year of their issue; provided, however, that when such
