budget, loan or appropriation by the State. Provided that
all Acts and functions of the Maryland Tercentenary Com-
mission, under the provisions of this section, shall be sub-
ject to the approval of the Board of Public Works.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1933.

CHAPTER 345.

AN ACT to repeal Section 21 of Chapter 155 of the Acts
of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1931, and to
repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections 21A and
21D of the same, relating to the Police Commissioner of
the City of Annapolis, and providing for the retirement
on pension of members of the Fire Department on the
same basis as members of the Police Department of said
City.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 21 of Chapter 155 of the Acts of
the General Assembly of Maryland be and the same is
hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That Sections 21A and
21D of said Chapter 155 of the Acts of the General Assem-
bly of Maryland of 1931 be and the same are hereby repealed
and re-enacted with amendments so as to read as follows:

21A. There shall be appointed every three years, by the
Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Annapolis, accounting
from the first Monday in July in the year 1933, a discreet
and capable person, a resident in said City for at least three
consecutive years next preceding the date of his appoint-
ment, who shall be styled the Police Commissioner of the
City of Annapolis, and his term of office shall be for a
period of three years and until his successor is duly ap-
pointed and qualified. He shall be subject to removal by
the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Annapolis for offi-
cial misconduct or incompetency, provided that he shall be
served with a copy of the charges and specifications, in
writing, at least five days before a hearing thereon shall
