CHAPTER 309.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 23 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland, title "Corporations, " sub-title
"Public Service Commission, " to be known as Section
351A, to follow immediately after Section 351 of said
Article, providing for the holding of certain hearings by
an authorized officer or employee of the Public Service
Commission.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be, and the same is hereby
added to Article 23 of the Annotated Code of Maryland,
title "Corporations, " sub-title "Public Service Commis-
sion, " to be known as Section 351A, to follow immediately
after Section 351 of said Article, and to read as follows:

351A. Whenever a hearing is held which relates to the
issuing, granting, protection, suspension or revocation of
any permit or permits for the operation of any motor ve-
hicle or motor vehicles over which the Commission has
jurisdiction, the Commission may authorize any officer or
employee of the Commission, deemed by it to be qualified,
to hold such hearing, and such officer or employee shall
have power to administer oaths, examine witnesses and
receive evidence. Upon completion of the hearing the
officer or employee holding the same for the Commission
shall submit to the Commission his findings and his recom-
mendations thereon, which findings and recommendations
shall be considered by the Commission and such action
taken with respect thereto, by the Commission, as it shall
decide to be proper.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1933.
