of four hundred dollars and no more for any purpose
whatsoever, and said salary shall be payable by the treas-
urer of said county, as other debts of said county are paid.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
not be construed to affect the compensation of the present
incumbents during the term for which they were elected,
but shall only apply to those appointed or elected after this
Act becomes effective.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1933.

CHAPTER 296.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
81 of Article 5 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Calvert County, " sub-
title "County Commissioners, " decreasing the amount
which may be expended for printing.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 81 of Article 5 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Cal-
vert County, " sub-title "County Commissioners, " be and
it is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments to
read as follows:
81. Before making the annual levy in each and every
year they shall contract for the printing and publishing in
one of the papers in said county of the annual statement,
notice of registration and election; and they shall have
printed in said paper such other printing that is or may
be required to be done and paid for by the county for the
period of one year from the day of making such contract,
provided such contract shall not allow for the entire print-
ing and publishing of every kind whatsoever to be paid for
by the county any compensation exceeding three hun-
dred and twenty-five ($325) dollars, and if either of
said papers shall not contract for the printing for
the above-named sum, then the County Commission-
ers are hereby authorized and empowered to have the same
