524 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 284

Article 24 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Worcester County, " to be under
sub-title "Elections, " said new section to be known as
Section 76A, to follow immediately after Section 76 of said
Article, and to read as follows:

ELECTIONS.

76A. The Board of Supervisors of Election of Wor-
cester County, their clerk and attorney, shall be paid the
salaries provided for in Article 33 of the Code of Public
General Laws of Maryland only in those years in which
county or general elections are held.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all laws or parts
of laws, whether Public General or Public Local Laws, in-
consistent with the provisions of this Act be and they are
hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1933.

Approved April 21, 1933.

CHAPTER 284.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
270 of Article 24 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition). title "Worcester County, "
sub-title "Revenue and Taxes, " to authorize and empower
the Treasurer of Worcester County to employ a clerk.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 270 of Article 24 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition),
title "Worcester County, " sub-title "Revenue and Taxes, "
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amend-
ments, to read as follows:

270. The Treasurer shall appoint a deputy, who shall
perform such duties as the said Treasurer may require,
and for whose official conduct said Treasurer shall be re-
sponsible, and who shall act in his stead and place in his
absence, and said deputy shall be paid an annual salary of
