SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency law and necessary for
the immediate preservation of the public health and safety,
and being passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-
fifths of all the members elected to each of the two Houses
of the General Assembly, the same shall take effect from
the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 169.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Chapter
127 of the Acts of 1929, so as to authorize and empower
the County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County to
levy a special tax in each Election District of Anne Arun-
del County, including the City of Annapolis, to raise an
amount of money not exceeding $22, 000. 00 for the year
1934, and every year thereafter including such addi-
tional amounts as may be necessary for the purchase,
maintenance and replacement reserve of fire fighting
equipment only of Volunteer Fire Companies of Anne
Arundel County as may be created hereafter; the amount
distributed to the Fire Company or Companies of each
district to be levied in the district wherein such
Fire Company or Companies are located; and to
pay the said amounts of money to the said Volun-
teer Fire Companies and to the Mayor and Aldermen of
the City of Annapolis, who shall pay the said amounts
of money to the several volunteer fire companies in the
City of Annapolis, and to require the treasurers of
the said Volunteer Fire Companies to be bonded; to have
general supervision over all Volunteer Fire Companies'
Chauffeurs in Anne Arundel County, excluding the City
. of Annapolis, to pay their salaries from the road tax; to
require and compel annual financial reports and detailed
operating reports from said Volunteer Fire Companies,
excluding the City of Annapolis; the annual financial re-
ports and detailed operating reports from the several vol-
unteer fire companies of the City of Annapolis to be made
to the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Annapolis; to
approve or disapprove the creation of all future Volun-
teer Fire Companies excluding the City of Annapolis and
to provide for the date when said payment shall be made.
