CHAPTER 167.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
113 of Article 16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Montgomery County, "
sub-title "Chevy Chase—Section 4, " relating to the man-
ner of assessing real property in said Chevy Chase Sec-
tion 4 for the purpose of paying for special improve-
ments.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 113 of Article 16 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
, "Montgomery County, " sub-title "Chevy Chase—Section
4, " be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amend-
ments to read as follows:

113. (a) Said Chevy Chase Citizens' Committee of Sec-
tion 4 as herein defined is empowered, with the approval
of the Board of County Commissioners, and subject to the
Conditions hereinafter set forth, to build, construct, re-
build or reconstruct any existing or hereafter dedicated
street, road or lane or any county road, street, or lane
which has been or may be acquired and opened for public
use, and to build or rebuild sidewalks, curbs, gut-
ters and/or crossings on any of such streets, roads or
lanes: and in furtherance of the powers so granted to
grade, pave, macadamize or otherwise to improve or change
the existing type of such streets, roads, lanes, sidewalks,
curbs, gutters and/or crossings.

(b) Whenever the said Chevy Chase Citizens' Commit-
tee of Section 4 shall determine that any street, road,
lane, sidewalks, curbs, gutters and/or crossings shall be
built, constructed, rebuilt or reconstructed as authorized
in the preceding paragraph (a), said Committee shall pre-
pare a list or statement setting forth specifically the street,
road, lane, sidewalk, curb, gutter and/or crossing to
be so improved and the bounds of such improvements, the
general type thereof, and the estimated cost thereof, and
shall call a special meeting of the owners of property abut-
ting on such improvement and against whose property
assessments for such improvement would be levied here-
under and the resident registered qualified voters who are
assessed as owners of any interest, joint or several, in real
property in Section 4, Chevy Chase, Montgomery County,
Maryland, at which meeting only the resident registered
