SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 939 of Article 17 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Prince George's County, " sub-title "Sheriff, " be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments to read
as follows:
939. Said guard, when appointed, shall serve continu-
ously, and he shall receive for his services the sum of
one dollar and eighty cents ($1. 80) for each day,
and one dollar and eighty cents ($1. 80) for each
night he shall serve as such guard, to be certified by
the Sheriff, and such amount shall be levied by the County
Commissioners of Prince George's County for the use of
said guard at their regular term for levying taxes for each
year if any guard shall have been appointed by the Sheriff
and serve as aforesaid.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1933.

CHAPTER 140.
AN ACT to provide that the Chief of the Prince George's
County Police, as provided for in Chapter 231 of the
Acts of 1931, shall have full control and supervision of
the lock-up in the Metropolitan District Building,
Hyattsville, and that arrested persons shall be committed
to the custody of said Chief of Police or the Sheriff of
said County, in the discretion of the committing Justice
of the Peace.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Chief of the Prince George's County
Police, as provided for in Chapter 231 of the Acts of 1931,
shall have exclusive and full control and supervision over
the lock-up in the Metropolitan District Building in Hyatts-
ville.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That persons ar-
rested in Prince George's County shall, in the discretion
