CHAPTER 131.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections
259 and 574 of Article 17 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Prince George's
County, " sub-titles "Constables" and "Justices of the
Peace, " sub-heading "Fees, " respectively, to provide that
Constables and Justices of the Peace of said County shall
be entitled to charge only one fee for their services in
cases where there is the commission of more than one
offense arising out of one and the same incident or event.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sections 259 and 574 of Article 17 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition),
title "Prince George's County, " sub-titles "Constables" and
"Justices of the Peace, " sub-heading "Fees, " respectively,
be and the same are hereby repealed and re-enacted with
amendments so as to read as follows
259. Constables shall be entitled to the fees prescribed
by law to be taxed against and paid by the party against
whom judgment shall be rendered, unless he or she be
discharged therefrom by due course of law; if such party
against whom judgment is rendered is unable to pay the
same, such fee shall be paid by the county commissioners
of the county wherein said judgment was rendered. Pro-
vided, however, that Constables shall be entitled to receive
only one fee for serving and/or returning more than one
warrant where there is a commission by one person of
more than one concurrent offense or violation of law aris-
ing out of one and the same accident, incident or event.
574. The said justices shall be entitled to charge for
their respective services in criminal cases the fees allowed
by Article 36, Section 22 of the Code of Public General
Laws except for each criminal trial they shall be allowed
one dollar. Such fees shall be taxed against and paid by
the party against whom "judgment shall be rendered, un-
less he or she be discharged therefrom by due course of
law; if such parties against whom judgment is rendered is
unable to pay the same, such fees shall be paid by the
county wherein said judgment was rendered, and no part
of, any fine or penalty enforced or collected by them shall
be paid to any informer. Provided, however, that Justices
of the Peace shall be entitled to receive only one fee for
