for election district number one, not less than one nor
more than two justices of the peace and not less than
one nor more than two constables; for election district
number two not less than one, nor more than two
justices of the peace and not less than one nor more than
two constables; for election district number three, not
less than one nor more than two justices of the peace
and not less than one nor more than two constables;
for election district number four, not less than one
nor more than two justices of the peace and not less than
one nor more than two constables; for election district
number five, not less than one nor more than two jus-
tices of the peace and not less than one nor more
than two constables; for election district number six, not
less than one nor more than three justices of the peace
and not less than one nor more than two constables. One
of the constables appointed in each district shall receive an
annual salary of three hundred dollars in lieu of all
other fees and compensation, except mileages as provided
in Section 235A, said salary to be payable in quarterly
installments by the County Commissioners, and the County
Commissioners shall designate the constable to receive the
aforesaid annual salary of three hundred dollars. Each of
the constables in each of said districts appointed to receive
the aforesaid annual salary of three hundred dollars shall
quarterly, accounting from the date of his qualification, file
with the County Commissioners of Howard County an ac-
count, verified by his oath, of all fees allowed and collected
by him pursuant to law during the preceding quarter, and
each of said constables shall at the time of filing said ac-
count pay over to the County Commissioners the whole of
said fees so allowed and received, the same to be appro-
priated for the general expenses of the County.

In addition to the other duties imposed by law upon
constables, the said constables of Howard County desig-
nated as aforesaid to receive annual salaries of Three
Hundred Dollars ($300. 00) shall have the power, author-
ity and duty to summons jurors upon request of the
Sheriff, and said designated constables shall be subject to
the call of the Court at each term of the Court and shall
render such services from day to day as the Court may
direct; provided, however, that said constables shall not be
entitled to any extra or additional compensation for so
summoning jurors and/or rendering services upon such
call of the Court.

293. Sheriff of Howard County shall receive an annual
salary of fifteen hundred dollars from and after the first
