shall be known and designated as Police Justice, and the
said Police Justice shall have the same jurisdiction in
criminal and civil cases as Justices of the Peace now pos-
sess and which may hereafter be conferred upon them by
and under the laws of this State, and shall have jurisdiction
of and perform the duties of the Coroner; and the said
Police Justice shall have exclusive jurisdiction in and shall
be required to try and determine all violations of criminal
laws and to perform all of the duties of the Coroner which
shall arise in said Election Precinct No. 3, in said Third
Election District, according to the present boundaries of
said precinct, and all violations of the ordinances of the
Town of Oxford, subject, however, to the same right of
election to be tried by a Jury, notice of which must be
clearly given by the said Police Justice to the parties before
trial, and subject to the same right of appeal as now exists
under the law; provided, however, that nothing contained
in this Act shall preclude the said Police Justice from try-
ing criminal cases which arise in any other precinct or dis-
trict of said County if the same shall be properly brought
before him.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1933.

CHAPTER 83.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
326 of Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Washington County, "
sub-title "Hagerstown, " sub-heading "Mayor and Coun-
cil, " relating to the license fees which may be imposed
by the Mayor and Council of Hagerstown.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 326 of Article 22 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Washington County, " sub-title "Hagerstown, " sub-head-
ing "Mayor and Council, " be and the same is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

326. The Mayor and Council shall have power to
prevent, remove and abate all nuisances or obstruc-
tions in or upon the streets, highways, lanes or alleys,
drains or water courses, or in or upon any lot adjacent
