1134 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 594
CHAPTER 594.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Chapter
290 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of
1890, relating to the incorporation of "The Baltimore
Humane Impartial Society and Aged Women's and Aged
Men's Homes. "

WHEREAS, An Act was passed on April 3, 1890, being
Chapter 290 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
land reducing into one the various acts of incorporation,
including the original Act of December 27, 1811, being
Chapter 86 of the Acts of 1811; and whereas, it is desired
by the Board of Trustees and by the Board of Managers,
acting for the welfare of said Society, that hereafter there
shall be only one Board known as the Board of Managers,
composed of women alone, having all the powers, rights and
duties heretofore belonging to the two Boards, except as
hereinafter provided; therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That said several Acts be amended and reduced
into one, so that all the rights, duties, powers and opera-
tions of said corporation, and of all its officers shall be
continued under the following provisions after this Act
takes effect.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said corpora-
tion is hereby continued under the corporate name of
"The Aged Women's and Aged Men's Homes, Frank-
lin Square, Baltimore, " and by that name it shall
have succession, and be capable in law of purchasing,
building, selling, leasing and conveying lands and tene-
ments, goods and chattels and other property, real and per-
sonal, and to take any property by gift, devise or other-
wise, within and without this State, and to sue and to be
sued, plead and be impleaded, and to make, have and use a
common seal, and the same to break, alter and renew at
pleasure, and in general, to do all acts and things which
may be necessary to carry into effect the purposes of its
incorporation and the provisions of this Act, including the
maintenance of homes for aged women and for aged men.

SEC. 2A. And be it further enacted, That Sections 3
and 4 of Chapter 290 of the Acts of 1890 be and they are
hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments, to read
as follows:
