SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is here-
by declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public health and safety, and
having been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by
three-fifths of all of the members elected to each of the two
Houses of the General Assembly, the same shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 572.

AN ACT to authorize and direct the Board of Public Works
of Maryland to sell a certain lot of ground and improve-
ments thereon, belonging to the State situated at Havre
de Grace, Maryland, and formerly used for hay scale
purposes, and to repeal Chapter 262 of the Acts of 1878.

WHEREAS, There is no demand for the use of a State hay
scale at Havre de Grace, Maryland, and the property owned
by the State upon which such a scale was formerly operated
is in such condition as to be objectionable to the residents
in the immediate neighborhood; therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Board of Public Works of Maryland,
be, and it is hereby authorized and directed to sell, either
at public sale, all of that lot of ground and improve-
ments thereupon, situated at Havre de Grace, Mary-
land, which was acquired by the State in pursuance
of Chapter 262 of the Acts of 1878, for use as a
State hay scale, and which said lot of ground is fully de-
scribed in a deed dated August 23rd, 1878, and recorded
in Liber A. L. J. No. 38, Folio 202. The net proceeds from
the sale of said property shall be paid into the State Treas-
ury and credited to the general funds of the State.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the Governor
be, and he is hereby authorized to execute the deed to con-
vey the property mentioned in the preceding section of
this Act.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That Chapter 262 of
the Acts of the General Assembly of 1878, be, and the same
is hereby repealed.
