meaner and shall pay a fine; not to exceed the sum of
twenty-five dollars ($25. 00) for each offense.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1933.

CHAPTER 548.
AN ACT to authorize and empower the County Commis-
sioners of Allegany County to borrow for the relief and
social welfare purposes of said County upon the faith
and credit of Allegany County at any time and from
time to time during the calendar years 1933 and 1934,
sums not exceeding in the aggregate one hundred thou-
sand ($100, 000) dollars at any one time outstanding,
and to issue notes, bonds or other evidence of indebted-
ness therefor, or to temporarily pledge the same as col-
lateral, and to provide for the repayment of such sums
as may be so borrowed together with the interest there-
on by taxes levied upon all the assessable property in
said County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the County Commissioners of Allegany
County be and they are hereby authorized and empowered
to borrow during the calendar years 1933 and 1934 upon
the faith and credit of said County such sum or sums of
money at any time and from time to time during said two
years as they in their discretion may determine and deem
necessary to provide money for the relief of the unem-
ployed, care and maintenance of children who are without
proper care and guardianship and without adequate sup-
port and other family welfare and general charitable and
social relief activities of said County; provided, however,
that the aggregate principal amount of such sums so bor-
rowed and outstanding and unpaid at any one time shall not
exceed one hundred thousand dollars ($100, 000).
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That said County
Commissioners of Allegany County be and they are hereby
authorized and empowered to issue the notes, bonds or other
evidence of indebtedness of said County for the sums so
