is in other respects legal and valid; and provided, further,
that nothing in Sections 87 and 91 shall affect the rights
of any bona fide purchasers or creditors, without notice,
who become so prior to June 1st, 1933.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1st, 1933.

CHAPTER 51.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
233 of the Public Local Laws of Baltimore County (as
enacted by Section 212B, Chapter 163, Acts 1920), codi-
fied in Offutt's Revised Code of the Public Local Laws
of Baltimore County, edition of 1929, title No. 25, "Fire
Department, " (Flack's Code 1930, Article 3, Section
233), so as to except mechanics and other ordinary
civilian employees from filing a certificate of examina-
tion issued by the Board of Examiners of the Fire De-
partment of Baltimore County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 233 of the Public Local Laws of
Baltimore County (as enacted by Section 212B, Chapter
163, Acts 1920), codified in Offutt's Revised Code of the
Public Local Laws of Baltimore County, edition of 1929,
title No. 25, "Fire Department, " (Flack's Code 1930, Article
3, Section 233), be and the same is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, so as to read as follows:

Section 233. That the name of no person appointed or
promoted to any position in the Fire Department of Balti-
more County after the creation of said Board of Examiners
shall be placed upon the pay roll of said Fire Department
until he shall have first filed with the County Commission-
ers of Baltimore County a certificate of said Examining
Board that his promotion or appointment has been made
in conformity with the provisions of this Act; excepting,
however, mechanics and other ordinary civilian employees
not engaged for actual fire fighting duty or for the opera-
tion of fire fighting machinery in actual service.
