CHAPTER 541.
AN ACT to amend Section 204 of Article 16 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, entitled "Montgomery
County, " as amended by Chapter 385 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of Maryland of 1931 prescribing the
powers and duties of the County Treasurer in relation to
the collection of taxes and receipts of monies due the
county and the deposit thereof and to prescribe the se-
curity for such deposit and the disposition of the interest
thereon; and to amend Section 207 of said Article 16 as
amended by Chapter 461 of the Acts of 1931 providing
for the time and manner of selling property for delin-
quent taxes and the charges to be made against the prop-
erty so sold and extending the time for filing the Treas-
urer's report of sale.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sections 204 and 207 of Article 16 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, entitled "Mont-
gomery County, " as said Section 204 was amended by
Chapter 385 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
land of 1931, and as said Section 207 was amended by
Chapter 461 of said Acts of 1931, be, and the same are
hereby, repealed and re-enacted to read as follows:
204. The County Treasurer shall collect all taxes levied
by the Board of County Commissioners and shall receive
all monies paid to said county from any source whatever
and all monies payable to the county from any source
whatever shall be paid to said Treasurer and shall make
disbursement thereof under the provisions of law and the
order of the County Commissioners.
It shall be his duty to deposit daily all monies, checks,
drafts and other receipts collected or received by him in
such bank or banks or banking institutions as shall be
designated from time to time by the Board of County Com-
missioners of Montgomery County; provided such banks
or banking institutions shall comply with the provisions
for the security of such funds as hereinafter set forth.
The Treasurer shall at all times make deposit of the
said county funds in the banks or banking institutions
so designated and in such a manner as may be fixed from
time to time by the Board of County Commissioners.
In selecting such place or places of deposit the Board
of County Commissioners are to prefer the banks or insti-
