ment of the sums so expended and the date of such expendi-
ture, verified by affidavit, and it shall be the duty of said
Treasurer when and as the money is paid to him, for the
redemption of property as heretofore provided, to notify,
by mail or otherwise, the purchaser of said property of
such payment for purposes of redemption. The Treasurer
shall keep a tax sales book for each year, and shall enter
therein the amount of such sales, and the name of the pur-
chaser, together with any taxes or expenditures made upon
said property by the purchaser, and when said property is
redeemed from said sale, shall mark the same "Redeemed"
and when deeded shall mark the same "Deeded" and the
date of the execution of said deed. All tax sales made after
the tax sales in the year 1933 shall be redeemed through
the office of the County Treasurer. For the additional
services to be performed by said County Treasurer the
Board of County Commissioners are hereby authorized and
directed to levy on all the taxable property in Montgomery
County and pay to the County Treasurer in addition to his
regular salary the sum of six hundred ($600) dollars an-
nually, payable monthly.
SEC. 2. Be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1933.

CHAPTER 537.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections
244 and 247 of Article 9 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Charles
County, " sub-title "Sheriff, " decreasing the allowance
made to the Sheriff of Charles County for the victuals
and support of prisoners committed to his custody, and
relating to the fees which shall be paid to the Sheriff for
making arrests in certain cases and for serving writs of
subpoena and making arrests upon warrant.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sections 244 and 247 of Article 9 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edi-
tion), title "Charles County, " sub-title "Sheriff, " be and
they are hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments
so as to read as follows:
