lect all necessary taxes on the real and personal
property within the taxable limits of said corpora-
tion, as are now assessed and taxed within said
limits for county and State purposes; said assess-
ment, levy and collection to be made for the pur-
pose of paying the interest on the bonds to be
issued under this act, to provide a sinking fund for
the final redemption of the same, and for the pay-
ment of all necessary expenses attending thereof,
and for no other purpose whatever.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That the Mayor, Al-
dermen and Common Council be, and they are
hereby authorized and empowered to adopt from
time to time, any assessment of real and personal
property that may be made within the taxable
limits of said corporation for county and State pur-
poses for the purpose of providing for the said
bonds issued under this act, but for no other.

Sec. 5. Be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from and after the date of its passage.

AN ACT to authorize the Commissioners of the
town of Havre-de-Grace to sell certain lots in
said town.

WHEREAS, a number of lots in the town of Havre-
de-Grace, which were disposed of by lottery pre-
vious to eighteen hundred and forty, have not been
claimed nor the taxes thereon paid by those draw-
ing them as prizes in said lottery and some other
lots which the legal owners or their legal representa-
tives cannot be ascertained by the Assessors of said
town; therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Board of Commissioners of
the town of Havre-de-Grace are hereby authorised
to direct their Bailiff to advertise the numbers and
