decide to be reasonable to meet the expenses of
repairs, or for the purchase of any articles neces-
sary for the use of the said company, and also at
the paying of each dividend of profits, a general
statement of the affairs of the company, shall he
prepared by the Directors and kept open for the
inspection of the stockholders or any of them, for
the space of two days after the same shall have
been presented to them.

Sec. 7. And be it enacted, That this corpora-
tion shall not be permitted to issue any note, token,
device or other evidence of debt to be used as cur-
rency.

Sec. 8. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from and after its passage.

Reservation.
|
SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That the General
Assembly reserves to itself the right to alter,
amend, or repeal this act at pleasure.

AN ACT to incorporate the Baltimore and Southern
Steam Transportation Company.
|
Incorporated.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That James A. Hooper, Isaac De-
ford, James H. Gary, George J. Appold and A.
F. Crane, their associates, successors and assigns
he and they are hereby created and made a body
corporate by the name and style of the '' Baltimore
and Southern Steam Transportation Company, " and
by that name shall have perpetual succession and
shall be capable in law to hold and dispose of pro-
perty, to sue and be sued, to plead and be impleaded,
answer and defend, and be answered and defended
in any court of law or equity, and in any other
place whatsoever, to receive and make deeds and
contracts, to make, have and use a common seal, and
