cepted Masons, shall revert to, vest in, and belong
to the master, wardens and members of a Masonic
Lodge, whenever such Lodge shall be organized in
the said town, and they shall have immediate pos-
session of the same, and all arrearages of rent
unpaid, and their successors.

 

Sec. 13. And be it enacted, That each owner of
real estate on Market street in said town, who
has not already done so, shall within ninety days
after he shall be thereto required by the President
and Commissioners, pave with good brick in front
of his or her premises on said street, a width of
side walk not less than six feet, and upon failure
to do so, the President and Commissioners shall
cause the same to be done, and the expenses shall
be levied and collected as other taxes in said town,
from the property in the front of which such pav-
ing shall have been done, the County Commission-
ers of Caroline county shall cause to be laid, a
pavement of good hard brick, in front of the public
square, all the way on Market street, of not less
than six feet in width, and likewise a pavement of
good hard brick from the last named pavement to

the court house door, of not less than twelve feet
in width; and any person driving over either of
said pavements so as aforesaid, laid by the County
Commissioners, with horses, mules, carts, carriages
or wagon, shall be liable to a fine of ten dollars,
and it is made the duty of the Bailiff of said town
or Sheriff of said county, to arrest such person
forthwith without warrant, and take him before a
Justice of the Peace, whose duty it shall be to im-
pose such fine, and upon his failure to pay said
line, the Justice of the Peace shall commit him to

the County Jail until such fine be paid; and the
bailiff, Sheriff or Justice of the Peace failing to
discharge their duty in the premises, shall be liable
to presentment and conviction in the Circuit Court
for Caroline county, and upon conviction shall be
fined in a sum of not more than twenty dollars in,
the discretion of the court, each owner of property
on Market street in said town shall continue to
keep in good repair the pavement in front of his
or her property on said street, and upon the failure
of such duty, the board of Commissioners may,
and it is made their duty to repair the same, and
the cost of such repairing so done by them shall
be assessed by said Commissioners on said property,
