any note, token, device, scrip, or other evidence of
debt to be used as currency.

 

Sec. 7. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from and after its passage, but nothing
herein contained shall authorize the said company
to go into operation until at least one hundred shares
are subscribed, of one hundred dollars each, and
ten dollars on each share paid in.

To take ef-
fect.

Sec. 8. And be it enacted, That the General As-
sembly reserves to itself the right to alter, amend,
or repeal this Act at pleasure.

CHAPTER 124.

 

AN ACT to incorporate the Allegany Vine Grow-
ing. Manufacturing and Agricultural Association

Passed Jan.
8, 1866,

SECTION 1. Be it, enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Charles Young, William Am-
bruster, George Reisohleim, G. H. Ohr, Henry
Bloomenour, Jno. R. Crusen, John F. Johnson,
Jas. A. Furguson, George W. Hoover, Joseph H.
Ways, and such other persons as may become
associated with them in manner as hereinafter pro-
vided, be and they are hereby made and constitu-
ted a body politic and corporate by the name of
the [of the] Allegany Vine Growing, Manufacturing
and Agricultural Association, and by that name
shall have perpetual succession, and be able to sue
and be sued, plead and be impleaded in any court
whatever, and may have a common seal, and the same
alter and renew at pleasure, and the said associa-
tion shall have all the powers, faculties, franchises
and rights necessary or convenient for carrying on
the raising of grapes and other agricultural pro-
ductions, and for manufacturing and preparing
the same for use and sale, and for mining and
manufacturing the minerals, ores and other pro-
ducts of its property, and selling and disposing of
