CHAPTER 123.

203

AN ACT to incorporate the Baltimore County
Dairy Association.

Passed Jan.
23, 1866.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Lewis H. Cole, Richard Sewell,
John Bacon, John T. Councilman, Alexander H.
Miller, Cornelius H. Cole and Joseph P. Shipley,
their associates, successors and assigns, he and
they are hereby created a body corporate by the
name and style of The Baltimore County Dairy
Association, for the purpose of furnishing and
supplying the inhabitants of the city of Baltimore
with pure and wholesome country milk, dairy and
farm produce, and by that name shall have perpet-
ual succession, and shall be capable in law to pur-
chase, hold and dispose of property, real, personal
or mixed, fee simple or leasehold, to sue or he sued
in any courts of law or equity, to have and use a
common seal, the same to change, alter or renew
at pleasure, to ordain such by-laws and regula-
tions as may appear necessary for regulating the
concerns of said corporation, and shall have and
enjoy, and may exercise all the rights, powers and
privileges incident and necessary to the purpose of
said corporation as created by this Act.

Incorporated.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the capital stock of
the company hereby created, shall consist of what-
ever amount, not exceeding two hundred thousand
dollars, as may be deemed necessary by the board
of directors hereinafter mentioned, expedient and
necessary for carrying into effect the business and
objects of said company, and that said capital shall
be divided into shares of one hundred dollars each,
to be subscribed for, ten dollars on each share to
be paid in at the time of subscribing, or disposed
of from time to time in such manner as the resolu-
tions or by-laws made in pursuance of this charter
shall provide.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That for the pur-
poses of organization of said corporation, the said
Lewis H. Cole, Richard Sewell, John Bacon, John
T. Councilman and Alexander H. Miller, are here-
by constituted and appointed a board of directors,
the first named to be the president thereof of said
Association, to hold office for the term of one year
