same if they shall find it expedient to do so in
payment of the expenses of construction and equip-
ment of said avenue, or other liabilities of said
company.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take

A SUPPLEMENT to the act entitled, an Act to
incorporate the Baltimore and Philadelphia
Steamboat Company, passed at December Session
eighteen hundred and forty-three, chapter one
hundred and fifty-eight.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That it shall and may be lawful for
the president and directors of the Baltimore and
Philadelphia Steamboat Company, in case this act
shall he accepted by the stockholders of said compa-
ny, to increase the capital thereof by the issue of
such number of additional shares of stock as they
may deem expedient of the like par value each, as
the existing shares; provided, nevertheless, that the
whole number of existing shares, shall not exceed
twenty-five thousand.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the additional
shares hereby authorized, may be disposed of from
time to time, in such manner as the stockholders
may by resolution direct.
