Power to

contract.

of the president and directors, signed by the pres-
ident.
Sec. 9. And be it enacted, That the president
and directors or a majority of them, shall have full
power and authority to contract for, and cause to
be erected, a wharf or pier in the Chesapeake Bay,
at or near Plum Point, Calvert county, and are au-
thorized to select such location at or near Plum
Point as they, or a majority of them, may deem
most convenient and safe, and they, or a majority
of them, shall have full power and authority to
agree with, and appoint such engineers, superin-
tendents, and other officers as they may think neces-
sary to construct such wharf or pier, and to con-
tract and agree for materials, and all such articles
as they may deem necessary, and may draw upon
the treasurer of the said company for money to
pay the wages or salaries of all persons by them
employed, or for materials furnished.

Power to
rent.

Sec. 10. And be it enacted, That the said presi-
dent and directors shall have full power and au-
thority to rent out the said wharf or pier erected
by them or in their discretion to charge tor the use
of the same, such tolls or wharfage, as they or a
majority of them, shall determine.

Reservation.

Sec. 11. And be it enacted, That the General
Assembly reserves to itself the right to alter or
amend this act at pleasure.

In force.

Sec. 12. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

Naval School at Annapolis.
