covered with cost of suit before any Justice of the
Peace or any court having cognizance thereof, by
action of debt or on the case in the name and for
the use of the said company.

Sec. 11. And be it enacted, That the General As-
sembly of Maryland hereby reserves to itself the
right to alter, amend or repeal this act or any part
thereof.

Sec. 12. And be it enacted, That if said railroad
or gravel road shall not have been commenced with-
in two years and completed within five years from
the passage of this act, then this act shall be null
and void, and of no effect.

Sec. 13. And be it enacted, That this act shall
be in force from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to incorporate the Crumpton and Long
Marsh Turnpike Road Company.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Lemuel Roberts, Joseph Shep-
herd, James P. Dudley, James Merrick and Joel
Clement, of Queen Anne's county, and Joel
Slaughter, of Kent county, be, and they are hereby
appointed commissioners to open books and receive
subscriptions to the capital stock of the company
hereby incorporated, and the said commissioners,
or a majority of them, shall fix the time and place
of receiving such subscriptions, and shall continue
said books open to receive subscriptions so long
and as often as they, or a majority of them, may
find it necessary to complete the same.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the capital stock
of said company shall be fifteen thousand dollars,
in shares of twenty-five dollars each, and all indi-
viduals and bodies corporate or politic, including
