Chapter 435.

 

AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to defray

 

the expenses of the contested election case of

 

Mattingly vs. Graves, of the session of eighteen

 

hundred and eighty, which was left unpaid by

 

reason of a deficiency in the appropriation for

 

legislative expenses.

 

WHEREAS it appears that the Legislature of eigh-

 

teen hundred and eighty directed that the expenses

 

growing out of the contested election case of Mat-

 

tingly vs. Graves (at the said session), should be paid

 

out of the legislation expenses of the session afore-

 

said; and whereas it appears that by the Comp-

 

troller's certificate, the appropriation for the expenses

 

of the General Assembly, January session, eighteen

 

hundred and eighty, has been exhausted; and

whereas the sum of two dollars due I. Frank Ford,

 

clerk of the Circuit Court of St. Mary's county, and

 

the sum of thirteen dollars and ninety-five eents due

 

W. Frank Ford, late sheriff of St. Mary's county,

 

and the sum of forty-five dollars due Vincent

 

Camaleire, the clerk appointed and sworn by the

 

magistrate before whom the testimony in the above

 

contested case was taken, are yet unpaid; now

 

therefore —

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-

 

bly of Maryland, That the Comptroller be and he
