proceed to act, the said sheriff shall administer to

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That the jury shall have

summoned such witnesses as the parties may re-

quire, and examine them on oath in relation to

witnesses.

the value of the property to be condemned; and

after the testimony is closed, and without unnec-
|
 
|

essary delay, the said jury shall ascertain and de-

termine the compensation which ought to be made

by the said Commissioners of Centreville to the

owner or owners of the laud proposed to be con-
|
 
|
|
demned; and the said jury shall reduce their in-

and it shall then be returned by the said sheriff to

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That the said inquisi-

tion shall be confirmed by said court, if no suffi-

day of the term thereof, beginning next after it is
|

filed in said court, and when confirmed shall be

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
