Chapter 408.

AN ACT to repeal chapter three hundred and fifty-
|
|
 
|
three of the acts passed at January session,
|
|
 
|
eighteen hundred and sixty-four, entitled " An
|
|
 
|
act to incorporate the President and Commission-
|
|
 
|
ers of the town of Cecilton," and to enact the
|
|
 
|
following in lieu thereof:
|
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
|
|
 
|
bly of Maryland, That chapter three hundred and
|
|
 
|
fifty-three of the acts passed at the January session,
|
|
Repealed and
|
eighteen hundred and sixty- four, entitled "An act
|
|
enacted in lieu
|
to incorporate the President and Commissioners of
|
|
 
|
the town of Cecilton," be and the same is hereby
|
|
 
|
repealed, and the following is hereby enacted in
|
|
 
|
lieu thereof:
|
|
 
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the inhabitants
|
|
 
|
of the town of Cecilton, Cecil county, are a cor-
|
|
 
|
poration by the name of President and Commis-
|
|
 
|
sioners of the town of Cecilton, and by that name
|
|
Corporation.
|
shall have perpetual succession; may sue and be
sued; may purchase, hold and dispose of real, per-
|
|
 
|
sonal and mixed property for the use and benefit of
|
|
 
|
said town, and may have and use a common seal,
|
|
 
|
which may be altered at pleasure.
|
|
 
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That they shall be
|
|
 
|
five in number, and shall be elected on the first
|
|
 
|
Monday in May annually; all male inhabitants of
|
|

said town, citizens of the United States, above

twenty-one years of age, who shall have bona fide

resided in said town one year next preceding the

election at which they shall offer to vote, shall be

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the said com-
