AN ACT to repeal section one of chapter four
|

hundred and seventy-one of the acts of the
|
|
 
|
General Assembly of eighteen hundred and
|
|
 
|
seventy-eight, entitled " An act for the better
|
|
 
|
protection of oysters in the waters of the Pat-
|
|
 
|
uxent river," included within the boundaries of
|
|
 
|
Calvert county and St. Mary's county, between
|
|
 
|
Point Patience and Sheridan's Point, in Calvert
|
|
 
|
county, and Town Point and Long Point, in St.
|
|
 
|
Mary's county, and to re-enact the same with
|
|
 
|
amendments.
|
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
|
|
 
|
of Maryland, That section one of chapter four
|
|
 
|
hundred and seventy-one of the acts of the Gene-
|
|
 
|
ral Assembly of eighteen hundred and seventy-
|
|
 
|
eight, entitled "An act for the better protection of
|
|

be and the same is hereby repealed, and the fol-
|
|
 
|
lowing enacted in lieu thereof:

|
 
|
1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

|

land, That it shall not be lawful for any person or
|
|
 
|
persons to take or catch oysters in water less than
|
|
 
|
sixteen feet deep, for any purpose, in any manner
|
|
 
|
or with any instrument whatever, in the waters of
|
|
 
|
the Patuxent river, from the first day of May to
|
|
 
|
the first day of September, in each year, after the
|
|
 
|
passage of this act; provided, however, that this
|
|
 
|
act shall not be construed to prohibit the citizens
|
|
