Chapter 312.

 

AN ACT to repeal chapter four hundred and sev-

 

enteen of the acts of eighteen hundred and sev-

 

enty-two, entitled " An Act to give certain deeds

 

wherein the amount of unpaid purchase money

 

may be expressed, the effect of mortgage deeds,

 

and preserve the vendors' lien in Allegany

 

county."

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted Inj the General Assem-

 

bly of Maryland, That the act of eighteen hun-

 

dred and seventy two, chapter four hundred and

 

seventeen, entitled " An act to give certain deeds

AN ACT to encourage Manufactures in the city of

 

Cumberland.

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-

 

bly of Maryland, That the Mayor and City Council

 

of Cumberland be and are hereby authorized and em-

 

powered, in their discretion, to levy for the years

 

eighteen hundred and eighty-two and eighteen hun-

 

dred eighty-three, at the time of making the annual

Manufactur-
ing enterprises

levy for general purposes in said city, upon all the
taxable properly therein, a sum not to exceed fifteen

 

hundred dollars in each of said years, for the pur-

 

pose of securing the introduction and establishment

 

of manufacturing enterprises in said city, said sum

 

or sums, or so much thereof as may be found neces-

 

sary, to be levied to and be expended by and under
