Chapter 394.

 

AN ACT to authorize and empower the County

 

Commissioners of Carroll county to levy a sum

 

of money on the assessable property of said county

 

for the building of a school-house in Harney, in

 

Carroll county.

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-

 

bly of the State of Maryland, That the County

 

Commissioners of Carroll county be and they are

 

hereby authorized and empowered to levy on the
assessable property of said county the sum of one

AN ACT to authorize and empower the Mayor and

 

Common Council of Westminster to make a con-

 

tract with a Joint Stock Water Company formed,

 

or hereafter to be formed, for the Supply of Water

 

to the city of Westminster, and to levy taxes to

 

pay said company according to the terms of said

 

contract.

 

WHEREAS the corporation of Westminster, as

 

well as the inhabitants thereof, are inadequately

 

supplied with water, and with a view to encourage

 

the formation of a joint stock water company, or to

 

aid a joint stock water company already formed with

capital to sink artesian wells, or adopt such other

 

methods as may be feasible for the purposes of intro-

 

ducing water into the city of Westminster, and to

 

construct such water works and furnish such supply

 

of water as may be required by the said corporation
