Chapter 386.

AN ACT to authorize the erection of a fire-proof
|
 
|
addition to the Court House of Baltimore county,
|
 
|
for the purpose of more safely preserving the re-
|
 
|
cords and papers required to be kept by the Clerk
|
 
|
of the Circuit Court for the said county, and to
|
 
|
provide for paying for the same.
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
|
 
|
bly of Maryland, That Edward W. Stiefel, Wm.
M. Isaac and William S. Keech, of Baltimore county,
|
 
|
be and they are hereby appointed commissioners to
|

receive bids for the erection of a fire-proof addition

to the court house of Baltimore county, said contract
|
 
|
to be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder or
|
 
|
bidders, for the purpose of more safely preserving
|
 
|
the records and papers required to be kept by the
|
 
|
clerk of the Circuit Court for said county, which
|
 
|
said building shall be erected according to plans
|
 
|
prepared by or under the direction of said commis-
|
 
|
sioners, or a majority of them, and shall be built by
|
 
|
said commissioners in such way as in their judgment
|

will best protect the said records and papers from

injury by fire or dampness.
|
 
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the County Com-
|
 
|
missioners of Baltimore county be and they are
|
 
|
hereby authorized, empowered and directed to levy
|

upon the assessable property of said county a sum
|
 
|
of money sufficient to pay the costs of said improve-
|
 
|
ment, not exceeding ten thousand dollars.
