Chapter 386.
AN ACT to authorize the erection of a fire-proof
addition to the Court House of Baltimore county,
for the purpose of more safely preserving the re-
cords and papers required to be kept by the Clerk
of the Circuit Court for the said county, and to
provide for paying for the same.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That Edward W. Stiefel, Wm. M. Isaac and William S. Keech, of Baltimore county,
be and they are hereby appointed commissioners to	Appointed
receive bids for the erection of a fire-proof addition	commissioners
to the court house of Baltimore county, said contract
to be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder or
bidders, for the purpose of more safely preserving
the records and papers required to be kept by the
clerk of the Circuit Court for said county, which
said building shall be erected according to plans
prepared by or under the direction of said commis-
sioners, or a majority of them, and shall be built by
said commissioners in such way as in their judgment	How built.

injury by fire or dampness.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the County Com-
missioners of Baltimore county be and they are
hereby authorized, empowered and directed to levy	Levy on asses- sable property
upon the assessable property of said county a sum
of money sufficient to pay the costs of said improve-
ment, not exceeding ten thousand dollars.
